Steve Olsen

1962–2015

Steven Robert Olsen was born December 27, 1962 and passed away October 20, 2015 in Loma Linda, California from causes incident to liver failure. He joined the family of Raymond Glenn and Norma McFadden Olsen and completed their family. He was the youngest of three siblings, Kevin, Pam and then Steve. Steve was raised in Provo, attending and graduating from Timpview High School in 1981. He then attended BYU but decided to pursue his love of photography and started working for a local newspaper. His photography won him many awards and he had a talented eye.

Steve made friends wherever he went and excelled in whatever he pursued. He eventually joined his older brother Kevin, on the Provo City Fire Department as a Fireman/EMT. He loved his job and made many good friends in the department. He had to take an early medical retirement but then started pursuing his new love, golf. He golfed as much as he could, eventually moving to Fillmore, Utah, California City, California and ended up in Hesperia, CA. He liked the weather in California because it was perfect to golf every day. His others loves were his family and his model trains. He was an expert in the model train business. He would attend train shows and loved to buy and sell his model trains. Steve was very proud of his three daughters and loved them so much.

Steven was the father of three daughters, Shandee Cabral (Chris), Patterson, CA, Kylee Shoell (Dan), Orem, Utah and Courtnee Olsen, Orem, Utah; and a proud grandfather of Ryan, Emma and Colter Cabral (Shandee and Chris). He is also survived by his father, sister, Pamela Liston (Harvey), Lehi, Utah. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his brother, Kevin G. Olsen, and his brother-in-law, Bruce A. Lee. A small Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Provo City Cemetery.
