1963 ~ 2012

Gary Quentin Nordgren passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the age of 49. Gary was born in Provo, Utah on June 15, 1963 to Quentin and Grace Nordgren. He grew up in Provo and graduated from Timpview High School in 1981. After high school, Gary attended BYU but preferred to learn through life experiences and reading, always wanting to learn something new to improve himself as well as help others with his new-found knowledge. Gary made friends easily and loved being around them. He was self-employed for many years as a life coach, assisting people to improve and succeed.

Gary was a loving, affectionate brother and son. He was kind-hearted and always wanted to help others. No matter what challenges came his way he retained a positive attitude. He greeted others with a smile and would always share his hearty, optimistic perspective.

Gary was grateful for life and everything life had to offer. He created an Internet blog so he could regularly share all the things he was thankful for.

Gary is survived by his siblings Mark (Connie), Sandy Rupper (Jim), Bruce (Irene), and Brent (Annette). He was also survived by his son, Luke Howell (Amber) and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Goff Mortuary, located at 8090 S. State St. in Midvale, Utah. There will be family visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Midvale City Cemetery located at 7500 South 450 West in Midvale, Utah.
